The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Corporate Services (CS) - Information Technology (IT) – Transversal Services Department (TSD) - Information and Reporting Division (IR) – Collaboration and Intranet Systems Unit (CIS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a:

 

IT SHAREPOINT BUSINESS ANALYST

These are two full time positions at grade 4/5

 

The term of this contract will be 4 years

 

The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs,

with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.

 

Purpose

The IT Sharepoint Business Analyst will play an important role on key transversal projects related to the Bank’s collaboration and document sharing program, with a view to promoting a digital workplace at the EIB. S/he will gather and convert the functional business requirements to technical requirements in the area of collaboration and document management and will ensure their adequate, efficient and timely implementation within the agreed timeframe.

Within the IT Transversal Services Department, the primary role of the “Collaboration and Intranet Systems” Unit is to provide and maintain IT solutions for building, validating, sharing, and archiving electronic documents and information in a collaborative mode, internally at the Bank and with external partners or clients. The main technical platforms used are PHP, Drupal, OpenText Content Server and Microsoft SharePoint.

The Collaboration and Intranet Systems Unit is also responsible for information design issues related to but not limited to the EIB Intranet.

 

Operating Network

The IT Sharepoint Business Analyst will report to the Head of the Collaboration and Intranet Systems Unit.

Internally, s/he will interact with IT, Information Management Department (especially with the Project and Change Management Unit) and representatives from all departments using collaboration and document management systems.  Externally, s/he will have contacts with External suppliers of software packages (e.g. Microsoft, OpenText) and consultancy.      

   

Accountabilities

The IT Sharepoint Business Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Implementing, under supervision of Head of Unit, projects and initiatives in own domain in line with the overall vision and strategy of the Department and Division and making suggestions to improve key processes

  • Defining the project goals, workflows, complex business needs, gaps and opportunities

  • Creating mock ups and story boards by using Microsoft tools such as Team Foundation Server or Visual Studio

  • Building demo sites through to final Graphical User Interface with SharePoint, SharePoint Designer and Nintex or any other workflow tool

  • Analysing and proposing possible technical solutions that are in line with business and functional requirements and IT plans; and if relevant define required customisations

  • Maintaining a high level of expertise about the functional aspects of collaboration applications.

  • Providing recommendation about issues that affect several IT domains to achieve a better integration of the Bank’s IT systems 

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Information Systems or similar relevant field

  • Qualifications in the area like CBAP certification (IIBA), PMI-BA certification or a BCS (ISEB) Diploma would be an advantage

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in SharePoint analysis and design

  • Experience in collaboration and document management tools using SharePoint

  • Experience in applying best practice in business analysis like BABOK

  • Experience in business process modelling would be an advantage

 

Key technical/professional knowledge and skills

  • Strong functional knowledge and practical experience in SharePoint, SharePoint designer and Microsoft Office related to collaboration and document management. Experience in SharePoint 2013 / 2016 or in other document management and collaboration systems is an advantage

  • Capacity to translate functional requirements to user stories with clear and concise acceptance criteria.

  • Ability to convey user requirements using tools available: demonstration sites, wireframe mock-ups, storyboarding, BPMN diagrams, UML diagrams (state diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram…) or written text

  • Knowledge of modern software project management techniques (e.g. RUP, Scrum)

  • Ability to identify gaps in processes, opportunities for improvements and automation

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (especially requirements gathering and testing)

  • Strong project management skills

  • Good presentation and communication skills

  • Fluent in English or French(*) and a solid understanding of the other

(*) There may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in French. If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages
