Broadcom BCM5708C NetExtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client) Compatibility Issue with Virtual Server 2005 R2
Good evening everybody.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I am posting this in English, so both our English and Greek natives can understand the issue.
There is a Compatiblity issue regarding implementation of Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 and a specific network card provided by Broadcom
The network adapter name is Broadcom BCM5708C NetExtreme II GigE and registers with the driver “Broadcom BCM5708C NetExtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client)”
The exact behaviour is this… when you create a Virtual Interface, connected to the physical adapter, and you start the machine, then the Physical Adapter “looses” network activity (you cannot even ping it..) and the Logical machine seems to have network normally.
As if like you can have one Virtual Adapter working each time.
THE SOLUTION TO THIS PUZZLING BEHAVIOR IS TO UPGRADE TO THE LATEST DEVICE DRIVER FOR THE SPECIFICK NETWORK ADAPTER
THE LATEST DRIVER SHOULD BE THE 3.0.5.0.
