Microsoft Learning (MSL) has an immediate opening for Sr. Content Product Manager to manage the certification exam portfolio for several IT Pro technologies. This certification portfolio includes Exchange, Lync, Sharepoint, and Dynamics family of technologies. In addition to owning these portfolios within the MCSA & MCSE certifications, this individual will also own and define the Microsoft Specializations certifications. This Product Manager for IT Pro technologies certifications role is primarily responsible for driving the business and product strategy. In this role you will get to work across multiple groups as well as cross boundary (i.e. international) to drive the certification business forward and position it for the next stage of sustained growth. This position is also highly visible to the executive management of Microsoft Learning - so if you like to be visible - this is the position for you! The primary roles and responsibilities of this position: Develop the certification product strategy and offerings for Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync and Dynamics, and lead the execution against that strategy. Create positioning frameworks and value proposition documents for new products. Set the strategy and work with Microsoft Learning’s marketing team to develop a marketing strategy that grows adoption of Microsoft certifications with individuals and organizations. Coordinate with cross-company business units to align our strategies and unify our messages, and engage with senior executives on progress. Create business requirements for new products/enhancements and work with the Product Development Group to pilot and launch product. Manage web-page updates for your portfolios. Get customer feedback from the different external and internal input channels - customers, partners, hiring managers, sales, field marketing, and support - to continually refine the value message and to provide continuous input into the development and delivery of new products. Knowledge / Experience / Abilities: The successful candidate has a deep understanding of the certification industry; strong understanding of the IT Professional audience; is a highly-motivated self-starter with a successful track record of defining and justifying product strategy; is highly collaborative and has the ability to influence others in customer based decision making A customer-centric approach and an intimate understanding of discovering and addressing customer needs. Product management experience including the ability to create product requirements, objectives, positioning frameworks and value proposition documents. The ability to understand and evangelize the importance of the total customer experience and how to create valuable certification products that deliver on the MSL value proposition and overall customer promise. A strong passion, aptitude, and knowledge of Microsoft IT Pro technologies and products. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills. Product design and Usability experience/knowledge a plus. Some technical training knowledge or experience strongly preferred. Strong analytical and strategic thinking, collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills required. Ability to make strong recommendations and influence change, drive for results, and think both strategically and tactically. Job Qualifications: A minimum of 5-7 years of product management, marketing management, and/or certification experience. A BA/BS degree is required.
