Information Security Architect

Responsible for performing technical assessments of risks, threats and vulnerabilities related to new and existing information systems and supporting processes within Sharp HealthCare. Responsible for reviewing and investigating suspicious activity identified in IDS, web application firewall, vulnerability scan results and other data sources, providing recommendations to system owners and ISD management, and monitoring to ensure that recommendations are effectively implemented. Responsible for monitoring, measuring, testing and reporting on the effectiveness and efficiency of information security controls and compliance with information security policies. Responsible for ensuring adherence to company policy and understanding Sharp’s business goals and objectives. Responsible for providing oncall support for information security systems in accordance with Sharp’s event management procedures.



The mission of the Information Security Office is to identify, assess, manage and investigate risks potentially impacting the patients, providers and workforce of Sharp HealthCare. This position provides the opportunity to work in a strong, creative team environment with other information security professionals on complex and rewarding projects that positively impact the entire system.



Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC). These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system. These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.


Requirements:
BA or BS Computer Science degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field, relevant experience in excess of three (3) years may be substituted.
Three (3) years or more of hands-on experience in Information Security, including technical risk assessment, incident response, system activity log review, vulnerability assessment, and internal controls consulting.
Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of risk, threats, vulnerabilities, internal controls and countermeasures.
Ability to collaboratively work with others and consistently complete assigned tasks within established timelines.
Advanced incident handling and forensics practices.



Preferred:
CISSP, CISM or CISA certification
Consulting experience with a variety of industries, including healthcare
Hands-on technical experience with vulnerability scanners, information security log management tools.
