Description:

The Air Command and Control Programme Office and Services (Air C2 PO&S) is looking for an Engineer (Security) to work within our Mission Assurance Branch (MAB) in the CIS Security Section in Glons, Belgium. As the Engineer (Security) you will be performing Security Risk assessments, defining security requirements, reviewing change requests and drafting security documentation with regards to internal CIS Security.

Role Responsibilities

The AirC2 Programme Office & Service (AirC2 PO&S) is responsible to the NCI Agency for providing efficient and effective through-life system and advisory support for Air C2 assets.

The Mission Assurance Branch (MAB) defines, establishes and maintains a mission assurance framework, in line with the NCI Agency’s policy and directives, in order to provide quality and safety assurance, information security services, configuration management, test, validation and verification of AirC2 systems under procurement or support.

The CIS Security Section (CISSS) establishes and maintains a CIS security framework for AirC2 product/services, including the maintenance of security documentation for products/services; the support and coordination of external and internal security audits, management of product/service security certifications and accreditations.

Under the direction and guidance of the Chief of CISSS, you will perform duties such as the following:
##Perform security risk assessments for AirC2 PO&S internal CIS and products/services, in particular development and test systems; 
##Define security requirements for new AirC2 products; 
##Review of Engineering Change Proposals for AirC2 products and assess for impacts on CIS security; 
##Review architectural/design changes to AirC2 products for compliance with NATO Security Policy; 
##Draft security documentation in support of the security accreditation of AirC2 products; 
##Support to security inspections/audits and security testing; 
##Act as the AirC2 PO&S Cryptographic Custodian in Glons as long as the location is maintained by the NCI Agency.

Person Specification


Qualifications Required

It is essential that the Engineer (Security) holds, as a minimum, a University Degree, preferably equivalent to a Master's of Science (BSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified university in Information Technology ideally with Information assurance contents.
Exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency.

Additionally, it would be considered highly desirable if you hold:
##Professional certifications in the CIS security area;
##NATO Crypto Custodian & Cards Course

Experience required

The Successful candidate should hold, as a minimum, 2 years of function relevant experience; and additionally, within this experience, will also be able to display:
##Recent experience in security engineering of large-scale distributed software-intensive CIS;
##Experience in executing security risk assessments;
##Experience in system security testing and security inspections/audits;
##General up-to-date knowledge of computer system architectures, modern operating systems and their security features, client/server, LAN/WAN and network concepts, test techniques, Database Management Systems and data management concepts.

Further to this; it would be considered Highly Desirable if you are able to demonstrate:
##Knowledge of NATO Security Policy and Regulations;
##Knowledge of the security architecture of AirC2 systems maintained by the NCI Agency;
##Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;

Languages

Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language, and therefore a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of French is desirable.
