Description

Are you a Scientist with experience in developing Cyber Security scientific, engineering, technical, and marketing information suitable for official meetings and high quality publications? Are you able to provide Cyber Security technical and professional guidance? If yes, this position is ideal for you!

Role responsibilities:

This post is assigned to the Cyber Security (CS) Service Line (SL) which provides governance, scientific, technical, acquisition and sustainment support in the area of cyber security, throughout the lifecycle of NATO Communications Information Systems (CIS). The CS SL enables secure conduct of the Alliance’s operations and business in the NNEC environment and in the context of NATO’s C4ISR.
 

In this position, you will perform duties such as the following:


Provide Cyber Security technical and professional guidance to scientific and engineering projects.  These contributions will include, but are not limited to, concept development, research, experiments, prototyping, and demonstrations as well as support to operations;
Provide technical support to acquisition projects including, but not limited to, writing and reviewing Cyber Security requirements and specifications, contributing to contractor statements of work, supporting bids; evaluations, and reviewing deliverables;
Develop Cyber Security business cases, strategies, and implementation plans;
Participate as required in the formulation, planning, and execution of technical and scientific Programmes of Work;
Develop and present Cyber Security scientific, engineering, technical, and marketing information suitable for official meetings and high quality publications.



Person specification

Qualifications required:

We are looking for a candidate with a university degree in cyber security, computer science, computer engineering or other relevant scientific or engineering discipline, equivalent to a Master's or higher, and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications

Experience required:

In addition to 5 years of experience you will also have:

Design and implementation of Cyber Security capabilities in an operational environment
Cryptographic technologies including key management
Identity and Access Management
Assessment of the state of Cyber Security, including risk management
Recognised track record in dealing with stakeholders, understanding their needs, problems, and requests and proposing constructive ways ahead;
Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders;
Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills.

Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or GIAC Security will be considered as an advantage:

Travel:



May be required to undertake duty travel to operational theatres inside and outside NATO boundaries



Language skills:

Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language, and therefore a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of French is desirable.
