The NCI Agency is currently seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to work within AirC2 Programme office and services; Mission Assurance Branch in Glons. As the Configuration Management Engineer you will be working to perform configuration management accounting, support the change management process, to work on projects providing CM Services for planning, implementation and acceptance and providing CM expertise to AirC2 PO&S stakeholders and customers.

Role Requirements

This is a position within the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency), an organization of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO);

The Air Command and Control Programme Office and Services (Air C2 PO&S) Service Line ensures the harmonized planning, implementation, deployment evolution and support of the Air Command and Control System (ACCS) and other AirC2 assigned programmers, in a way that satisfies the operational requirements and minimizes the military risk, taking into account the NATO political, economic and schedule requirements and using the most suitable industrial and technological solutions.

The Mission Assurance Branch (MAB) defines, establishes and maintains a mission assurance framework, in line with the NCI Agency’s policy and directives, in order to provide quality and safety assurance, information security services, configuration management, test, validation and verification of AirC2 systems under procurement or support.

The Configuration Management Section (CMS) establishes and maintains a configuration management (CM) framework for AirC2 products/services in accordance with NCI Agency policy and directives in order to establish/maintain consistency of product performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design and operational information throughout its life.

The Configuration Management Engineer performs related activities including CM planning, configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting and configuration verification and audit.

As the Configuration Management Engineer and under supervision by H-CMS, but largely on own initiative, you will perform the following duties:
##Executing configuration identification for new or changed Configuration Items (CIs) 
##Supporting the change management process to efficiently and effectively process software and hardware changes from request to implementation and roll-out; 
##Performing configuration status accounting for assigned CIs; 
##Performing Physical and Functional Configuration Audits (PCA,FCA) for assigned CIs; 
##Supporting in-house AirC2 projects in providing CM services for baseline planning, implementation and roll-out; 
##Supporting acquisition projects in providing related CM services for project planning, implementation and acceptance by NATO; 
##Coordinating the exchange of CM data between AirC2 PO&S, the NCI Agency Directorates, NATO and National organisations and industries; 
##Maintaining and further developing the configuration management database and related web portals for AirC2 PO&S; 
##Providing CM expertise to AirC2 PO&S stakeholders/customers; 
##Performing other related duties as directed.

You may be required to travel for business purposes to NATO, national (NATO and non-NATO) and some duty travel to Operational facilities (Both Inside and Outside of NATO boundaries). As well as this frequent travel between the NCIA offices may also be required.

Qualifications Required

The successful candidate should hold, As a minimum, a university degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline, preferably equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications. Exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency.


Experience Required

It is essential that the successful candidate holds, as a minimum, 4 years of practical working experience in the field of configuration management or in a related area; with extensive and progressive managerial experience in fields directly related to the function of the post.

It would also be considered essential if you could display:
##Practical experience in the application of configuration management for the complete system lifecycle (from development to in service support and decommissioning); 
##Practical experience in performing configuration management for application software.

Further to this experience, it would be considered highly desirable if you could demonstrate:
##Experience with NATO configuration management policy, processes and procedures; 
##Experience of working in an international environment;

Languages

Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language, and therefore a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of French is desirable.
