The IMMo team is in charge of the operational management of mandates contracted with the European Commission, in close cooperation with other EIF services. Overall objective: The trainee is expected to help the IMMo team with the execution of financial activities related to the mandates (budget tracking, accruals, invoices) whilst also proposing improvements to the cash flow forecast process and assisting with the continuous maintenance of the mandate database. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Head of Unit, s/he will be assigned the following objectives: Carry-out an assessment of the Institutional Mandates’ liquidity needs by performing and looking at the various deliverables related to budget consumption of the mandate; Update of the internal database with information related to Institutional mandates. Expected outcome: Critical evaluation of current methodologies and suggesting improvements where applicable. Qualifications: University degree (or on-going studies at advanced stage) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, IT, Computer Science, Business or any related subject; Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. macros) and Business Objects; Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, reconcile and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy; Some knowledge and understanding of EIF’s mission and activities and of markets and legal frameworks relevant to EIF’s business, as well as policies and priorities in that context; Understanding of EIF’s products; Prior experience in banking/finance and/or familiarity with legal contracts would be a plus; Ease with IT applications, data analysis and data presentation. Competencies: Good drafting and synthesis skills; Fluency in English; knowledge of further EU languages considered an asset; Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbally and in writing); Ability to work productively, with attention to detail; Demonstrate initiative, capability to work autonomously towards given objectives and organise own work effectively even under time pressure.
