1.      Organizational Context

 

a.         Organizational Setting

 

The post of ERP Solutions Manager is located in the Management and Administrative Applications Section (MAAS), Department of Program Planning and Finance. The objective of the Management and Administrative Applications Section is the continuous development and on-going support of management and administrative applications.

 

 

b.         Purpose Statement

 

The incumbent is responsible for the strategic evolution and management of a defined set of ERP solutions, in this case BI and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), which are part of the Administration Information Management System (AIMS), an integrated software suite of business applications.  The incumbent works closely with business process owners, to ensure that the solutions meet their objectives and manages a team consisting of staff and external resource.

 

 

c.         Reporting Lines

 

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Deputy Director and Head of MAAS. 

 

 

2.      Duties and Responsibilities

 

The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

 

a.   Partner with business process owners to jointly develop a shared vision and strategically plan the evolution of ERP solutions.

 

b.   Manage the evolution of ERP solutions throughout the software development lifecycle ensuring that these solutions support the business objectives.

 

c.   Lead the review of recurring operational issues and new software updates to identify opportunities for simplifying, streamlining and enhancing processes and systems; consult with the business process owner to agree on the recommended options.

 

d.   Manage the enhancement of ERP solutions by performing a lead role in business process change projects, from analysis of stakeholder objectives to the release into operational use.

 

e.   Organize and manage the work of staff and external resources, to ensure that the quality of the output is in line with business objectives and contractual terms, while addressing any issues that may be identified and escalating those upwards if needed.

 

f.    Quality check documentation produced by the team to ensure completeness, accuracy and relevance of the MAAS knowledge base.

 

g.   Maintain strong relationships with other ERP Solutions Managers, IT focal points in other areas and with subject matter experts to ensure solutions are maintained and enhanced in accordance with established software development guidelines and standards.

 

h.   Ensure that the team provides service orientated support for the customers/end-users of software applications that fall within their responsibility.

 

i.    Lead the establishment and continual maturity of ITIL based processes, thereby helping MAAS to achieve ISO/IEC 20000 certification.

 

j.    Perform other duties as necessary. 

 

 

3.      Requirements

 

Education

Essential

Advanced university degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline.  A first-level university degree plus two years of relevant experience in addition to the experience requested below may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

ITIL foundation and basic project management certification, e.g. PRINCE2 foundation certification.

 

Desirable

Software quality certification.
 

ITIL certification in a specific service operation component.
 

PRINCE2 practitioner certification.

 

Experience

Essential

At least nine years of relevant professional experience which includes several or all of the following areas: team leadership, functional analysis and specification, software development, user acceptance testing, software maintenance, documentation standards, training methods and deployment, quality management.

Substantial experience managing Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse and Enterprise Performance Management-related applications throughout their life cycle within a highly integrated environment.

Experience with vendor management.

Substantial hands-on experience working with at least two of the following software solutions: PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Update Manager, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Business Intelligence, Acuity Risk Management, Oracle Taleo Recruiting Cloud Service, Business Process Management and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Project management experience.

 

Desirable

Experience with more than two of the software solutions listed above.

 

Experience with an Enterprise Risk Management system.

 

Language

Essential

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

 

Desirable

Knowledge of French.

Good knowledge of ERP business practices in relation to the following areas: Financials, Commitment Control, Procurement, Human Resource Management, Recruitment, Business Process Management, Automation of Cross-Functional Business Processes, and Customer Relationship Management.

 

Knowledge of financial and / or HR business processes applied by the United Nations.

SQL and PeopleTools skills.

Ability to work with UNIX operating systems.

5.         Information

 

Mobility:  WIPO staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the Director General and may be assigned to any activities, office or duty station of the Organization.  Accordingly, the selected candidate may be required to move from time to time to new functions and/or to another duty station.

 

Annual salary:

Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and pension fund deductions) in US dollars and a post adjustment.  The post adjustment (cost of living allowance) is variable and subject to change without notice in accordance with the rates as set within the UN Common System for salaries and allowances.  The figures quoted below are based on the February 2018 rate of 81.6%

Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations.
