The European Investment Fund (EIF), is seeking to recruit for its Strategic Planning & Analysis (SPA) Division, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a:

Software Developer Trainee

For a period of five (5) months

Context:

The SPA team solves complex problems by data analysis. The team also addresses business needs by identifying solutions, organizing a strategy around the outcomes and delivering a value added business solution.

Overall objective:

The Trainee will work on a high visibility project that will support SME financing across Europe.

The internship will focus on (a) technical design for advanced analytics and (B) creation of technical prototypes and production systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the SP&A Team in delivering the analytics and the modelling solution;
  • Work with other team members to determine options for fulfilling project goals;
  • Develop, test, and document design specifications and prototypes;
  • Develop, test, and document production systems.

Expected outcome:

Implementation of a production system by the end of the traineeship along with the relevant technical documentation.

Qualifications:

  • University degree (or on-going studies) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field is preferred;
  • Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written);
  • Technical/Professional Knowledge & Skills are required;
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one general-purpose programming language is required. Knowledge of Java or Scala and SQL is an advantage.
  • Experience with or interest in micro service based architecture and functional languages is an advantage.
