The Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems Group, BICES is currently seeking an IA (Information Assurance) & CD (Cyber Defence) accreditation Officer to work within their Information Assurance and Cyber Defence Division to take full responsibility for the coordination and support of all BICES security accreditation activities, including BICES Element accreditation and Interconnections accreditation with all the appropriate stakeholders especially the Nations and Organizations connected to BICES.

Role Responsibilities

The Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems Group, BICES is a NATO body which provides NATO forces and other national allied military organizations with near-real-time, correlated, situation and order of battle (OB) information. This capability supports threat analysis, target recommendations and, indications and warning.

Your primary role as IA (Information Assurance) & CD (Cyber Defence) accreditation Officer will be to take full responsibility for the coordination and support of all BICES security accreditation activities, including BICES Element accreditation and Interconnections accreditation with all the appropriate stakeholders especially the Nations and Organizations connected to BICES; however Reporting to the Head Information Assurance & Cyber Defence (IA&CD) you will also be expected to carry out tasks in relation to:
Documentation of technical, physical and personnel security aspects;
Security assessments of computer network and application aspects;
Support of the development of security policy and supporting documentation;
Verification of installation aspects of network and host equipment and of the update of the Configuration Management Data base especially from a security and accreditation perspective
The conduct and support of vulnerability assessment activities;
Support of security inspection activities;
The conduct and support of project management activities;
Implementing system security technology;
Coordinate all BICES security accreditation activities;
Maintain the Security Accreditation status of BICES and its interconnected systems;
Maintain the BICES security accreditation documentation;
Support vulnerability assessment activities;
Support security inspection activities;
Support and provide information assurance training;
The support of any urgent matters.
To represent the BGX at meetings of national, NATO or other international bodies as required.
To represent the Information Assurance Office in official meetings.
To liaise with national, NATO or other international bodies and individuals as required.
Perform other duties as may be required.

You may be required to travel for business purposes to NATO, national (NATO and non-NATO) and some Operational facilities (Both Inside and Outside of NATO boundaries). As well as this frequent travel between the NCIA offices may also be required.


Person Specification


Qualifications Required

The Successful candidate will hold a university degree in a related technical subject, preferably equivalent to a master's degree and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications in Information assurance, Cyber Security or other relevant area.

It is considered Highly desirable if you hold post graduate experience in computer engineering or information management systems, or equivalent combination of appropriate qualifications and experience.
Exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency

Experience Required

It is essential that the successful candidate holds, as a minimum, 3 years of post-related experience in Information Assurance activities; and within this have an understanding of:
NATO and/or national intelligence systems.
Communications and information systems project management techniques.
Communications and information systems design.

It is also essential that you are able to display:
Ability to understand, assess and solve complex technical issues.
Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills.
Sound capacity to deal and negotiate with Nations
Knowledge of information management techniques.
Detailed knowledge of LAN and WAN communications, wíth the ability to define, design and implement communications infrastructures.
Detailed knowledge of router-based networks.
Detailed knowledge firewall and guarding technologies.
Detailed knowledge on vulnerability assessment techniques.

In addition to the above it would be considered highly desirable if you could display:
Knowledge of NATO security policy and supporting directives.
Experience working in a multinational environment.
A working knowledge of NATO organisations and procedures.
Awareness of best practices/lTlL methodology and its implementation.
Experience in the Cyber Defence field.
Knowledge of BICES environment.

Languages

Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language, and therefore a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of French is desirable.
