NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is looking for a Training Manager & Instructor SCTC to be responsible for the full life cycle management of SHAPE CIS Training Centre (SCTC).

 

Role responsibilities

 

The NCI Agency has been established with a view to meeting to the best advantage the collective requirements of some or all NATO nations in the fields of capability delivery and service provision related to Consultation, Command & Control as well as Communications, Information and Cyber Defence functions, thereby also facilitating the integration of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Target Acquisition functions and their associated information exchange.

The mission of the Education & Training Service Line is to manage, coordinate and deliver education and training services to NCI Agency customers and internal staff in support of NATO strategic operational and business objectives. Within the Training Management Group (TMG) / SCTC, you will be responsible for all aspects of the provision of training to SHAPE, NCI Agency and other customers.

 

Under the direction of the E&T SL, Head Training Management Group you will perform duties such as the following:

  • Manage the SHAPE CIS Training Centre.
  • Design and develop new training courses to include introductory courses for newcomers and intermediate and advanced courses as directed.
  • Develop introduction and advanced courses for issued software packages.
  • Update of course materials as software and requirements change.
  • Manage CIS Training programs for supported staff.
  • Coordinate training schedules with CIS Coordinators to determine CIS training needs and requirements.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and other agencies for the scheduling of instructor training courses.
  • Plan, prepare and execute / teach the courses required by SHAPE-NCIA (Microsoft-office, Tasker Tracker, DHS, SharePoint, SHAPE CIS Introduction, CIS Coordinators etc.).
  • Responsible for the training (and evaluation) of new instructors within the section.
  • Control the operation and maintenance of the SCTC training LAN.
  • Determine and submit requirements for new or replacement equipment and provides budget submissions in support of those requirements.
  • Share information creating – updating – maintaining webpages (SharePoint and Internet).
  • May be requested to participate in the work priorities and meeting in other NATO locations.
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned.

Person specification

Qualifications required:
You will have a university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of appropriate qualifications and experience.
 

Experience required:

In addition to at least 2 years function related experience, you will be required to prove:

  • Qualified Instructor with at least 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience in instructing Windows Operating Systems and MS Software applications (MS-Office 2010/2013).
  • Experience in instructing specific software like SharePoint, Project Management Applications, DMS -Document Management System, SDE – Service Desk Express.
  • Experience in developing and designing training packages (including manuals and guidelines).
  • Experience in the training and guidance of new instructors.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft applications (MS Office / SharePoint, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional theory and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the NCI Agency and customers organizations.
  • Displays high ability to exercise judgment of priorities, organize multiple tasks simultaneously and work with minimal direction.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 

It will be considered and asset if you can prove:

  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
  • Experience in lecturing and/or group instruction.
  • 8 years’ experience operating CIS (ADP) systems and 8 years’ experience working with Windows operating system and Microsoft software applications.
  • Knowledge in LAN architecture and system administration to manage internal training LAN.

Language skills:

A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. NOTE: Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.

 

Travel:

Business travel to NATO and national (NATO and non-NATO) facilities as well as travel between NCI Agency locations. May be required to undertake duty travel to operational theatres inside and outside NATO boundaries.
