Description
:  

NCI Agency is looking for skilled Senior Analyst (Business Intelligence (BI) - Data Analytics) to support the Agency’s core business intelligence system. Do you have experience in developing business metrics and benchmarking of business performance? Do you have experience in designing business operations dashboards and reports? Role responsibilities

 

In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the Agency’s core business intelligence system capability, with focus on oversight of Agency-wide data analytics to ensure compliance with policy and alignment with Business goals and objectives.   In addition you will indirectly support business operations decision making by conducting specialist and cross-domain data analytics which will necessitate building star schemas and related automation.

 

Under the direction of the Quality, Risk and Compliance Branch Chief, you will perform duties to:

  • Core-BI (Business Intelligence) oversight of Agency-wide data analytics to ensure coherence and alignment with Business goals and objectives and best practice.
  • Build or update star-schema and analyse star-schema requirements for metrics implementation and build information holders and related automation exploiting Agency provisioned BI systems across and within business domains.
  • Contribute to metric design and business reports/dashboard design and manage incoming requests for changes to existing star schemas.
  • Analyse metric requirements with Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to include ad hoc information requirements.
  • Propose new/modifications to metrics and reusable dimensions based on analysis results.
  • Ensure work conforms to Agency quality standards and risks are managed effectively.

Functional area management (core BI domain and cross-domain data analyst)

  • Coordinate BI analytic pan-Agency to meet Business needs and priorities.
  • Takes responsibility for the control, update and distribution of post-related processes and procedures.
  • Plans review of activities, processes, products or services.
  • Manage assigned resources and track time in Time Accounting System.

Other duties

 

  • Support and assist with the work of Metric and Dashboard Designers in the Section.
  • Stay up to date with new developments in the functional area assigned, and bring innovative ideas of others into the implementation.
  • Deputize for higher grade staff.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Person specification

 

Qualifications required:

 

You will be required to have a university degree in a relevant discipline equivalent to a Master’s and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications.

 

Exceptionally, the lack of a Master’s degree may be compensated by a lower academic qualification combined with the demonstration of particular abilities or experience of relevance to this post.

 

Experience required:

 

You will have at least 5 years of experience in supporting, leading and/or managing customer focused business operations in a technical organisation. You experience should encompass:

  • Business metrics analytics;
  • Development of star-schemas and/or Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes;
  • Benchmarking of business performance;
  • Designing business operations dashboards and reports;
  • Team management or technical lead within Project and Process environments;
  • Service delivery within a service oriented organization.

In addition, you will have experience in using of state-of-the-art data analytics and data integration tools/programming language, for example: Hadoop, SQL, Microsoft BI stack including Power BI, Performance Point, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Information Services (SSIS) and R.

 

You will also be required to have working knowledge of and experience with best practice IT and business management standards, methods and frameworks such as: COBIT, ISO 9001 and 19600, M_o_R, TOGAF, MSP, Prince2, ITIL.
