  1. Catastrophic Failure
    Στο σημερινό μας post θα δούμε την εγκατάσταση και την ρύθμιση του Exchange 2010 Edge Transport Server ρόλου. O Edge Transport Role στον Exchange Server 2010 παρέχει ένα υψηλό επίπεδο security μεταξύ external και internal επικοινωνίας. Με λίγα λόγια, ο Edge server σαν «φίλτρο» προστασίας της αλληλογραφίας (εσωτερικής και εξωτερικής). Ο Edge role θα πρέπει να εγκατασταθεί σε ξεχωριστό μηχάνημα « server» από τον server που είναι εγκατεστημένοι οι υπόλοιποι ρόλοι του Exchange Server 2010 HT, CAS, ΜΒ.

    Τα προαπαιτούμενα «prerequisites» πριν την εγκατάσταση του Edge Transport Role είναι τα ακόλουθα:
    · OS: Windows Server 2008 x64 SP 2 or Windows Server 2008 R2
    · Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
    · Windows Remote Management 2.0
    · Windows PowerShell V2
    · Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS)
    Προτού προχωρήσουμε με την εγκατάσταση του Edge Transport Role, αφού έχουμε ήδη ρυθμίσει τον Edge Transport σε DMZ (Demilitarized zone ή αλλιώς perimeter network) θα πρέπει να βεβαιωθούμε ότι το DNS suffix έχει προστεθεί για το “domain. Local”, στην περίπτωση μου είναι “emea.com”.

    Μετά την ρύθμιση του DNS suffix θα σας ζητηθεί να επανεκκινήσετε «reboot» τον server. Εφόσον ξεκινήση server θα προχωρήσουμε σε εγκατάσταση του Edge Role, επιλέγουμε από το DVD του Exchange Server 2010 setup.com (Run as administrator).

    Θα επιλέξουμε Custom εγκατάσταση για να μπορέσουμε να επιλέξουμε τον Edge Role

    Η εγκατάσταση συνεχίζετε και το Readiness Checks ολοκληρώνετε, επιλέγουμε Install για να συνεχίσουμε.

    Step6
    Η διαδικασία εγκατάστασης του Edge Role ολοκληρώνεται με επιτυχία και επιλέγουμε Finish για να ολοκληρωθεί.

    Step7
    Μετά από την ολοκλήρωση της εγκατάστασης θα μα ζητηθεί να κάνουμε Restart για να εφαρμοστούν όλες οι αλλαγές.

    Έφτασε η στιγμή να ρυθμίσουμε τον Edge Role να «μιλάει» με τον HUB Role, πάμε λοιπόν να δούμε την διαδικασία. Παραμένουμε στον Edge Server για να μπορέσουμε να δημιουργήσουμε το the Edge Subscription file μέσω της κονσόλας EMS (Exchange Management Shell) Run as administrator.
    Πληκτρολογούμε την εντολή:
    New-EdgeSubscription –Filename “C:\edge.xml”

    Επόμενο βήμα μας είναι να αντιγράψουμε το xml αρχείο που δημιουργήσαμε στον Edge και να το κάνουμε import στον HUB transport server. Στην δική μου περίπτωση έχω έναν Exchange 2010 multi-role server (CAS/HUB/MBX).
    Στον HUB transport server μας θα πάμε να ανοίξουμε την κονσόλα EMC àOrganization Configuration à Hub Transport à Edge Subscriptions και πραγματοποιώντας δεξί κλικ επιλέγουμε New EdgeSubscription.

    Επιλέγουμε το AD Site όπου ο Edge θα πρέπει να γίνει subscribed και επιλέγουμε browse για να κάνουμε import το xml file που δημιουργήσαμε πρωτύτερα.


    Σημείωση: Για να μπορέσουμε με επιτυχία να συγχρονίσουμε τον Edge server «Edgesync» θα πρέπει η πόρτα 50636 (TCP) να είναι ανοιχτεί στον HUB server(s) προς τον Edge server.
    Εξ’ ορισμού ο Edge server ακούει στην πόρτα 50389.
    Μόλις η διαδικασία του subscription ολοκληρωθεί με επιτυχία θα πρέπει να εμφανίζετε όπως στην ακόλουθη εικόνα.

    Είναι ώρα να ξεκινήσουμε τον συγχρονισμό του Edge server Edgesync, την εντολή θα την εκτελέσουμε από τον Hub Server.

    Ν’αμαστε πάλι λοιπόν.. Άλλοι φεύγουν για διακοπές αυτόν τον καιρό, άλλοι είναι σε διακοπές και άλλοι έχουν γυρίσει (σαν κι εμένα). ‘Ήθελα το θέμα που θα ανέβαζα να είναι λίγο καλοκαιρινό και όχι Καταστροφικό, αλλά όταν μιλάμε για OS, Server κλπ πώς είναι δυνατόν να μην είναι καταστροφικό (χεχε). Είχα σκοπό να αρχίσω να γράφω για τον Exchange που είναι και ένας από τους βασικούς Server που ασχολούμαι, αλλά με προλάβανε τα αγόρια του Autoexec στην στροφή (xixi) και έχει ήδη αναπτυχθεί το παρόν προϊόν. Γι’αυτό αποφάσισα να μην αναφέρω για την αρχιτεκτονική και την δομή του Exchange αλλά προτίμησα να επιλέξω ένα θέμα που αντιμετώπισα στο παρελθόν με ένα κομμάτι του Exchange Server.
    Η ιστορία έχει ως εξής:

    Το θέμα:
    Access OWA and mobile sync from CAS role of exchange Server 2007 after installing by mistake, SharePoint with ntlm authentication on same IIS port (80). SharePoint is now successfully moved to 8080 but owa and mobile sync still not working…

    Ελέγξαμε όλες τις ρυθμίσεις στον IIS 7.0 στον Exchange Virtual Directory και επιβεβαιώσαμε ότι account read/ write access.

    Κάναμε recreate the OWAvdir ακολουθόντας τα παρακάτω βήματα:

    Μετά από όλα αυτά πάλι δεν μπορούσαμε να κάνουμε display το OWA μέσω :
    https:\\server\owa
    https:\\<IP>\OWA
    Εκτελέσαμε την εντολή «Get-OWAVirtualDirectory | FL > C:\owa.txt» και μας έδωσε τα ακόλουθα αποτελέσματα:
    AppCmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/security/authentication/windowsAuthentication /useKernelMode:false
    Προσπαθήσαμε να συνδεθούμε πάλι, αλλά το WebSite ήταν connected στο SharePoint Server, στην IP του OWA. Αφαιρέσαμε το Redirection από το OWA Vdir και Restart τον IIS, πάλι τίποτα.
    Εκτελέσαμε την εντολή «Test-OWA cmdlet and we got error that user CAS_xxxxxxx does not exist or does not have credentials to perform the test». Επόμενο βήμα η επανεγκατάσταση του CAS Role. Επίσης προχωρήσαμε στην αφαίρεση του IIS 7 από τον Server Manager Roles, αφαιρέσαμε όλα τα features για τον IIS 7 και προχωρήσαμε σε reboot του Server και επανεγκατάσταση του IIS 7. Η απεγκατάσταση έγινε σωστά, μεταβήκαμε στο root του inetpub για να επιβεβαιώσουμε ότι αφαιρέθηκαν όλα σωστά και δεν υπήρχαν κατάλοιπα. Ξεκινήσαμε την εγκατάσταση του IIS 7, Server Manager -- >Roles -- > Add Role -- >Check the IIS 7 option and follow the wizard. Εκτελέσαμε από CMD τις ακόλουθες εντολές για το Default Web Site:
    ServerManagerCmd -I RSAT-ADDS ServerManagerCmd -I PowerShell ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Server ServerManagerCmd -I Web-ISAPI-Ext ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Metabase ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Basic-Auth ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Digest-Auth ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Windows-Auth ServerManagerCmd -I Web-Dyn-Compression Κάναμε Restart τον server και προσπαθήσαμε να κάνουμε login στο OWA, το error αυτήν την φορά ήταν «401- Unauthorized», «404 -File not found»

    Επίλυση
    Μετονομασία του web.config και Web.config-xxx file το οποίο βρίσκεται στο root του Default Web Site και επανεκκίνηση του IIS. Αφαιρέσαμε mannually όλα τα code references που ήταν pointing στο SharePoint από το web.config file of c:\inetpub\wwwroot, και επανεκκίνηση του IIS. Δοκιμάσαμε να κάνουμε login στο OWA και ναι τα καταφέραμε!!
    Αυτά τα ολίγα για την ώρα, ελπίζω να μην σας κούρασα αλλά να περάσατε καλά….

    We are excited to announce that the Remote Connectivity Analyzer tool has been updated! In addition to the standard set of connectivity tests, we’ve added an Office 365 tab and a Single Sign-On test. The new Single Sign-On test will validate users' ability to log on to Office 365 with their on-premises credentials. It also validates some basic Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) configurations.

    Known Issues
    A couple of the tests allow you to "Ignore trusts for SSL". Checking this option only tells the tool to not fail if the certificate you are using is not in the list of Trusted Root Certificates – for example, if you were using a certificate from your own Windows CA. This option does not allow the test to be completed over a non-SSL connection. If you do not have a certificate and want to test whether Exchange ActiveSync works over port 80 - this tool cannot perform this validation. We will not be able to add this feature in the future. Note: Due to limitations in the RPC API, we are currently unable to ignore the trust requirement for SSL for the RPC over HTTP / Outlook Anywhere tests. We are looking into alternatives for future releases.
    Copy to clipboard doesn't work in Firefox by default (You have to enable it) Some localized strings are in English if they were modified during this update. These strings will be localized in the future. While performing tests, the stage of testing will no longer update while the test is being performed. This is a necessary change for the moment due to some underlying changes to the Remote Connectivity Analyzer code. Your full test results will be available once the test is complete. New / Modified Features
    Microsoft Exchange Remote Connectivity analyzer is now the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer. The future direction for this tool is to incorporate more products as we have done with Office 365. Thus dropping "Exchange" from the name made sense. There are still lots of strings where you'll see ExRCA or Exchange; we're cleaning these up in a future release. Tabbed user-interface to support multiple products and Office 365. Office 365 Single sign-on validation. This test allows you to validate identity federated scenarios with Office 365. Specifically, this new test targets the "Basic Authentication" federated scenario where a client sends credentials to Office 365 which in turn validates them against the on-premises ADFS server. Fixed an issue where ExRCA wouldn't validate certain top-level domains such as .travel and .museum. Added code so if the Enter key is pressed in the wizard, the default action is "next" instead of "previous". Previously, this didn't work for browsers other than IE. Better cross-browser support, fully supporting IE8-IE9 standards mode as well as other major browsers. Source: MSExchange Team

    Πρόσφατα αντιμετώπισα το εξής θέμα με έναν W indows Server 2008, και μήνυμα λάθους στα Event Log το ακόλουθο:

    Ωραίο μήνυμα ,δεν νομίζετε ?

    Το ακριβή πρόβλημα που υπήρξε ήταν με το File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) ρόλο. Ενώ όλα είχαν στηθεί σωστά, ο ρόλος File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) στον Server, τα πάντα σωστά ρυθμισμένα, δεν μπορούσαμε να λάβουμε e-mail notifications.
    Μετά από πολύ έρευνα και αναπαραγωγής του προβλήματος κατέληξα στα ακόλουθα βήματα τα οποία και δούλεψαν σωστά.
    (Ζητώ συγνώμη που έχω τα βήματα μου στα αγγλικά)
    To work around this problem, you must setup again File Server Resource Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
    Setup a share resource with the proper dependencies (network name and physical disk) Start up File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) Right click on File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) and select “Connect to Another Computer” Enter the network name that you setup in step 1. Once connected, go to Quota Management Under Actions click on 'Create Quota' Put in the path to the share resource that you created in step 1. You can use also Browse button if you like. Choose what type of quota template you wish to use Click on Create Setting up File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) console to Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista client’s box you will need to install the MMC 3.0 from the following link:

    Τελικά η αναπαραγωγή του προβλήματος μου έλυσε τα χέρια, και η αιτία του προβλήματος είναι η εξής:
    Όταν τα file system quotas έχουν υπερβεί τα όρια ή όταν υπάρχει παραβιάσει των αρχείων συστήματος. Αυτά τα ολίγα για την ώρα…

    Νωρίς σήμερα, η ομάδα του Exchange CXP έκανε release τα νέα Update Rollups για τις εκδόσεις του Exchange Server 2007/2010 τα οποία είναι διαθέσιμα προς λήψη στο Download Center και μέσω των Microsoft Update.

    This update contains a number of customers reported and internally found issues since the release of RU1. In particular we would like to specifically call out the following fixes which are included in this release:

    This update contains an internally found issue which can impact upgrades from RTM RU4 to Service Pack 1. We have opted to release an out-of-band update rollup for Exchange 2010 RTM proactively to ensure customers have as smooth an upgrade experience as possible.
    2266458 Setup cannot perform a mode:/uninstall on a HT role server since RU2 delivered MSFTE.msi Currently, we have no plans to release future update rollups for Exchange Server 2010 RTM. We strongly recommend customers upgrade to Service Pack 1 with the latest Update Rollup after installing this update.
    Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2007 SP2
    MSRC 10-024 Τέλος, το Exchange Team ανακοίνωσε ότι δεν προβλέπετε να βγει άλλο Update Rollup για τον Exchange Server 2007 SP2.
    Σημείωση για τους χρήστες Forefront:
    Για όσους από εσάς χρησιμοποιείτε Forefront, πρέπει να εκτελέσετε αυτά τα σημαντικά βήματα από τη γραμμή εντολών «command line» στο Forefront directory πριν και μετά τη διαδικασία της εγκατάστασης του rollup. Στην περίπτωση που δεν πραγματοποιηθούν αυτά τα βήματα, τα Exchange services για το Exchange Information Store και Transport δεν θα μπορέσουν να ξεκινήσουν. Θα χρειαστεί να απενεργοποιήσετε το Forefront μέσω «fscutility /disable» προτού εγκαταστήσετε το patch και στη συνέχεια ενεργοποιήστε το ξανά μετά την εγκατάσταση του patch με την εκτέλεση της εντολής «fscutility /enable» να ξεκινήσει και πάλι μετά την εγκατάσταση.

    In Exchange 2010, you can use Retention Policies to manage message retention. Retention Policies consist of delete tags, i.e. retention tags with either Delete and Allow Recovery or Permanently Delete actions, or archive tags, i.e. retention tags with the Move To Archive action, which move items to the user's archive mailbox.
    Depending on how they're applied to mailbox items, retention tags are categorized as the following three types:
    Default Policy Tags (DPTs), which apply to untagged items in the mailbox – untagged items being items that don't have a retention tag applied directly or by inheritance from parent folder. You can create three types of DPTs: an archive DPT, a delete DPT and a DPT for voicemail messages. Retention Policy Tags (RPTs), which are retention tags with a delete action, created for default folders such as Inbox and Deleted Items. Not all default folders are supported. You can find a table showing the default folders supported for RPTs in Understanding Retention Tags and Retention Policies. Notably, Calendar, Tasks and Contacts folders aren't supported. Personal Tags, which are retention tags that users can apply to items and folders in Outlook 2010 and Outlook Web App. Personal tags can either be delete tags or archive tags. They're surfaced in Outlook 2010 and OWA as Retention policies and Archive policies. To deploy retention tags, you add them to a retention policy and apply the policy to mailbox users.
    In Exchange 2010 SP1, we added support for the Notes folder. In Exchange 2010 RTM, items in the Notes folder aren't processed. After you upgrade to SP1, if the user's retention policy doesn't have a RPT for the Notes folder, the DPT from the user's policy will apply to items in that folder.
    In existing deployments, your users may not be used to their notes being moved or deleted.
    To prevent the DPT from being applied to a default folder, you can create a disabled RPT for that folder (or disable any existing RPT for that folder). The Managed Folder Assistant, a mailbox assistant that processes mailbox items and applies retention policies, does not apply the retention action of a disabled tag. Since the item/folder still has a tag, it's not considered untagged and the DPT isn't applied to it.

    Note: You can create a disabled RPT for any supported default folder.
    Why are items in the Notes folder still archived?
    If you create a disabled RPT for the Notes folder, you'll see items in that folder are not deleted, but they do continue to be moved to the archive! Why does this happen? How do you prevent it?
    It's important to understand that:
    A retention policy can have a DPT to archive items and a DPT to delete items. Both apply to untagged items. The move and delete actions are exclusive of each other. Mailbox folders and messages can have both types of tags applied - an archive tag and a delete tag. It's not an either/or proposition. If you create a disabled RPT for the Notes folder to not delete items, the archive DPT for the mailbox would still apply and move items. When it comes to archiving, there's only one archive policy that administrators can enforce – the DPT with 'Move to archive' action. You can't create a RPT with the 'Move to archive' action. This rules out using the disabled RPT approach to prevent items from being moved. Users can apply a personal tag to a folder or messages to move items sooner or later than the default archive policy for that mailbox. How do you prevent items in a default folder from being archived?
    There's no admin-controlled way of doing this, short of removing the archive DPT from a retention policy. However, removing the archive DPT would result in messages not moving to archive automatically unless the user applies a personal tag to messages or folders.
    The workaround is to have users apply the Personal never move to archive personal tag (displayed as Never under Archive Policy in Outlook/OWA) to a default folder. The tag is included in the Default Archive and Retention Policy created by Exchange Setup. You can also add this tag to any Retention Policies you create.

    How do I access Office 2010 files from the browser?

    For businesses: You can access your Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files from a SharePoint Server that is running the Office Web Apps by selecting Open in Web from the drop-down menu next to the file. When you are ready to access the document, simply log back on to your company’s network for access from your Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox browser. You can publish and access InfoPath 2010 Forms in a browser powered by SharePoint Server 2010 as well.
    For personal tasks: You can access your Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files by posting your documents online. When you are ready to edit or view the document online, simply log on to Windows Live from Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox. A Windows Live ID is required for accessing the Windows Live Document account.

    Όπου:

    Virtual server ID είναι ο virtual server number του virtual server που θέλουμε να γίνει archive.
    Το Archive location είναι το directory όπου θέλετε να τοποθετήσετε τα αρχεία σας. Χρησιμοποιήστε το ακόλουθο syntax <drive letter>:directory name. Παραδείγματα:

    Για να εγκαταστήσετε το archiving στο SMTP virtual server 1, πληκτρολογήστε τα ακόλουθα: Cscript archivesink_setup.vbs install 1 d:\archivesink
    Για να απεγκαταστήσετε το archiving στο SMTP virtual server 1, πληκτρολογήστε τα ακόλουθα: Cscript archivesink_setup.vbs uninstall 1
    Για να εμφάνιση bindings στο SMTP virtual server 1, πληκτρολογήστε τα ακόλουθα: Cscript archivesink_setup.vbs display 1
    Step 4: Ρύθμιση Registry Key για το SMTP Virtual Server
    Όταν εγκατασταθεί το ArchiveSink , δημιουργεί αυτόματα τα κλειδιά μητρώου που απαιτούνται για επιπρόσθετο archiving control. Πρέπει να αλλάξετε το value του «Enable Message Logging key» σε 1 για να ενεργοποιήσετε την καταγραφή για λεπτομερείς πληροφορίες μηνυμάτων «detailed message information». Μετά από την ενεργοποίηση «detailed logging», ένα αρχείο.xml που περιέχει όλους τους παραλήπτες των μηνυμάτων συμπεριλαμβανομένων των Bcc παραληπτών, δημιουργείται για κάθε e-mail message.
    Για να ενεργοποιήσετε το Bcc recipient logging:

    1. Εκκινήστε το Registry Editor.
    2. Μεταβείτε στο: HKEY__LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\ArchiveSink\1
    Όπου το «1» αντιπροσωπεύει το virtual server 1.

    Step 5: Επανεκκίνηση το IIS Admin Service
    Για εφαρμοστούν οι αλλαγές στην registry , θα πρέπει να ξεκινήσετε πάλι τις ακόλουθες υπηρεσίες: IIS Admin Service, Exchange store, και Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks.
    Για να επανεκκινήσετε τα απαραίτητα services:
    1. Επιλέξτε Start, κατόπιν στην επιλογή All Programs, έπειτα στην επιλογή Administrative Tools και στη συνέχεια κάντε κλικ στην επιλογή Services.
    2. Στα Services, στο παράθυρο λεπτομερειών, κάντε δεξί κλικ ISS Admin Service, και στη συνέχεια κάντε κλικ στο κουμπί Επανεκκίνηση.

    In this Post, will see the step by step installation of Exchange 2010 SP2 and highlighting few things that you should know before installing Exchange Server 2010 SP2 in your production. First thing is to Test it in lab environment before installing in production environment.
    What you must know before installing Exchange 2010 SP2:
    SP2 includes schema changes
    With certain new features, Exchange 2010 SP2 updates the schema. To understand what changes happen when you run Exchange 2010 SP2 read the Exchange Server Active Directory Schema Changes Reference, November 2011
    Since, the installer will be requiring modifications to Schema, user account used for installation of SP2 must be a member of Schema Admins group in active directory. As a best practice, make sure that this user account is removed from the group once the schema extension is complete.
    Windows Server Features are required for CAS Role
    In Exchange Server 2010 CAS is the primary entry point for clients to any Exchange Server 2010 Environment. With this release, a few more features are added in the CAS server role which makes on premise and Office 365 integration a better experience and also an improvement that makes the silent redirection better within cross site CAS roles. A new feature called Mini Outlook Web App now exists that works on no cookies, no scripts model.
    Below are Windows Server Role Features that you need to install before installing SP2 on CAS Role.

    After we finish with adding Windows Server Role Features which required to proceed with SP2 installation we run Setup.
    1. Go to the folder which you have download from Microsoft site the Exchange 2010 SP2, unzip the Exchange 2010 SP2 package first, then launch setup program.


    2. Follow the wizard, start to install SP2, read through the introduction and click Next button


    3. Read through the license agreement, accept it and click Next button.


    4. Next step Readiness Checks, Setup wizard finished successfully click Install.


    5. Completion and final step is completed successfully, choose Finish.


    6. After the installation is complete, we’ll see the following message, which informs us that we need to reboot the system for changes to take effect.


    7. After reboot we can see that our Exchange Server was installed successfully SP2, Build number 14.2 (Build 247.5)

    Installing Updates on DAG is not a normal exercise
    Many of us run DAG because of its proven reliability and ability to make a highly available mailbox database system. Installing updates on a member of a DAG is not a regular installation though, for that reason please visits the link bellow in case you have DAG and you want to upgrade to SP2.

    Στο σημερινό post θα δούμε την διαδικασία μεταφοράς ενός Exchange Server 2010 mailbox σε διαφορετική βάση (Database). Στον Exchange Server 2010 υπάρχουν δύο διαδικασίες μεταφοράς mailbox:
    Local Move – Η διαδικασία Local μας παρέχει την δυνατότητα μεταφοράς ενός mailbox από μια database σε μια άλλη (στον ίδιο ή διαφορετικό server, με την προϋπόθεση ο server να βρίσκετε στο ίδιο exchange organization). Remote Move - Η διαδικασία Remote μας παρέχει την δυνατότητα μεταφοράς ενός mailbox από μια database σε μια άλλη σε διαφορετικό forest. Σημείωση: Δεν υποστηρίζετε η δυνατότητα μεταφοράς ενός mailbox από Exchange 2000 και 2007 SP1 σε 2010.
    Για να πραγματοποιήσουμε την μεταφορά ενός mailbox από μια database σε μια άλλη στο ίδιο organization ακολουθούμε τα παρακάτω βήματα:
    1. Θα μεταβούμε στην κονσόλα EMC (Exchange Management Console)
    2. Επιλέγουμε Recipient Configuration και Mailboxes
    3. Κάνουμε δεξί κλικ στο mailbox που θέλουμε να μεταφέρουμε και επιλέγουμε “New Local Move Request”.

    Στο επόμενο βήμα θα επιλέξουμε την Database που θέλουμε να μεταφέρουμε το mailbox μας (στο παράδειγμα μας επιλέγουμε την MBDB01).

    Επόμενο βήμα είναι να επιλέξουμε εάν θέλουμε να κάνουμε skip την διαδικασία μεταφοράς του mailbox σε περίπτωση που υπάρχουν κατεστραμμένα messages ή συνεχίζουμε την διαδικασία επιλέγοντας Next.

    Στο επόμενο μας βήμα θα δούμε μία περίληψη του mailbox που προσπαθούμε να μεταφέρουμε. Επιλέγουμε New για να συνεχίσουμε.

    Τελευταίο μας βήμα, η διαδικασία Move Request ολοκληρώνεται και επιλέγουμε Finish.

    Ο Exchange δεν έχει ολοκληρώσει την διαδικασία μεταφορά του mailbox, απλά έλαβε μονάχα το request για μεταφορά. Για να επιβραβεύσουμε το status της μεταφοράς του mailbox, θα πάμε να το δούμε μέσα από την κονσόλα EMC (Exchange Management Console) στην επιλογή Move Request όπου εμφανίζετε η λίστα και το status της μεταφοράς του mailboxes. Όπως θα παρατηρήσετε και στην εικόνα μας, η διαδικασία ολοκληρώθηκε και το status μας λέει Completing.

    This update contains a number of customer-reported and internally found issues since the release of RU3. We'd like to specifically call out the following fixes which are included in this release:

    Σημείωση για τους χρήστες Forefront:
    Για όσους από εσάς χρησιμοποιείτε Forefront, πρέπει να εκτελέσετε αυτά τα σημαντικά βήματα από τη γραμμή εντολών «command line» στο Forefront directory πριν και μετά τη διαδικασία της εγκατάστασης του rollup. Στην περίπτωση που δεν πραγματοποιηθούν αυτά τα βήματα, τα Exchange services για το Exchange Information Store και Transport δεν θα μπορέσουν να ξεκινήσουν. Θα χρειαστεί να απενεργοποιήσετε το Forefront μέσω «fscutility /disable» προτού εγκαταστήσετε το patch και στη συνέχεια ενεργοποιήστε το ξανά μετά την εγκατάσταση του patch με την εκτέλεση της εντολής «fscutility /enable» να ξεκινήσει και πάλι μετά την εγκατάσταση.

    Για εμένα το 2012 ξεκίνησε πάρα μα πάρα πολύ καλά, για δεύτερη χρονιά μου απονεμήθηκε ο τίτλος του MVP στον Exchange Server.     As more and more of you evaluate and deploy the email archiving, retention and discovery capabilities of Exchange Server 2010 and Exchange Online, we understand that Personal Folders (.pst files) remain a challenge for you. You have told us that having the ability to search your network to discover and then import .pst files across your environment is critical, and that you need an admin-driven and straightforward tool for doing these things.
    We're excited to announce that later this year we'll be adding a new tool to our already rich portfolio of planning and deployment tools. This new tool, PST Capture, will be downloadable and free, and will enable you to discover .pst files on your network and then import them into both Exchange Online (in Office 365) and Exchange Server 2010 on-premises. PST Capture will be available later this year. It doesn’t replace the New-MailboxImportRequest cmdlet that exists already for importing known .pst files into Exchange Server, but instead works in parallel to enable you to embark on a systematic search and destroy mission to rid yourself of the dreaded .pst scourge <*pirate growl*>.
    We'll make more details available as we approach the release of the tool, but given the high demand for this capability, we wanted to let you know that we are working on this for you.

    For many companies, the robust messaging and calendaring features offered by Office 365 for enterprises presents an opportunity to transition all messaging functionality from the on-premises organization into the cloud. Office 365 for enterprises includes a full suite of e-mail migration tools.
    However, there are dependencies and restrictions on the migration tools that you may be able to use with Office 365. Variables such as your on-premises Exchange Server version, the number of mailboxes you want to move, and how you want to handle user identity will dictate the tools and processes you can use to migrate to the cloud.

    Πριν 2 περίπου χρόνια, η ομάδα του MSExchange είχε δημοσιεύση στο Blog της ένα άρθρο, εξηγώντας τους περιορισμούς υποστήριξης σχετικά με το deploying σε Exchange 2007 με πολλαπλά Outlook Web App (OWA) Virtual Directories ( δείτε εδώ: Supportability for multiple OWA/ Exchange Web Sites on Client Access Servers in Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1) και καθώς η ιδέα αυτή του multiple Outlook Web App (OWA) Virtual Directories ζητείται ποιο συχνά, η ομάδα του Exchange θέλησε να κάνει το ίδιο και για τον Exchange 2010.
    Η Microsoft υποστηρίζει την χρήση πολλαπλών virtual directories OWA και Exchange Control Panel (ECP) για έναν single Exchange 2010 Client Access Server. Το κάθε virtual directory θα πρέπει να «ακούει» listening στη standard «πόρτα» port (TCP 443).
    ΣΗΜΕΙΩΣΗ: θα πρέπει να επιβεβαιώσετε ότι το Default Web Site είναι ρυθμισμένο να έχει τις επιλογές: All Unassigned for IP, αλλιώς υπάρχει πιθανότητα να προκύψουν προβλήματα με την PowerShell.

    Το RBAC Manager δημιουργήθηκε για την απλοποίηση του RBAC administration.Το RBAC Manager μας βοηθάει να βρούμε: missing GUI, adding/removing cmdlets, cmdlet properties, assignments κ.α. Το παρόν tool είναι γραμμένο σε γλώσσα C# και χρησιμοποιεί PowerShell. Για να εγκαταστήσουμε το RBAC Manager, θα πρέπει πρώτα να εγκαταστήσουμε τα Exchange 2010 Management Tools.

    Αυτό το πρόβλημα εμφανίζεται επειδή το TMG 2010 ορίζει εσφαλμένα λίστες «access control lists (DACLs)» για τις υπηρεσίες COM που εκτίθενται από το TMG 2010. Αυτές οι λίστες «access control lists (DACLs)» εμποδίζουν NLB WMI event notifications από το να γίνουν αποδεκτά από τα TMG services. Ως εκ τούτου, η εσωτερική κατάσταση NLB TMG δεν είναι updated, καθώς και δευτερεύοντα στοιχεία που εξαρτώνται από την κατάσταση NLB, όπως IPsec ορισμοί φίλτρου.     1. Κάντε κλικ στην κουμπί Download σε αυτή την σελίδα: Update for Forefront TMG 2010 (KB 980674).
    2. Αποθηκεύστε το αρχείο στον Server, επιλέξτε Save και πληκτρολογήστε: <path>\TMG-KB980674-GLB.msp
    3. Εκκινήστε το command prompt
    4. Εκτελέστε την εντολή:
    msiexec /p <path>\TMG-KB980674-GLB.msp /L*v inst-KB980674.log
    Σημείωση:
    Εάν εκτελέσετε το αρχείο πραγματοποιώντας διπλό κλικ από την τοποθεσία αποθήκευσης του ενδέχεται να λάβετε το ακόλουθο μήνυμα λάθους.

    Καλό μήνα και Χρόνια Πολλά..
    Στο παρόν Post θα δούμε κάτι απλό και χρήσιμο για τους χρήστες του Outlook Web App (OWA), πώς θα δημιουργήσουμε E-mail rules στο Outlook Web App 2010.
    Πάμε λοιπόν να δούμε την διαδικασία δημιουργίας E-mail rules στο Outlook Web App 2010, βήμα προς βήμα:
    1. Κάνουμε login στο site του OWA 2010 https://mail.yourcompany.com/owa
    2. Δημιουργούμε φακέλους στο Inbox όπου θέλουμε να μεταφέρονται τα emails μας, από μια ομάδα ανθρώπων ή ενός.
    3. Επιλέγοντας δεξί κλικ στο Inbox μας, μας δίνετε η επιλογή “Create New Folder..”

    4. Σε περίπτωση, που ο χρήστης μας έχει ενεργοποιημένο το Online Archive (όπως στο παράδειγμα μας), μπορούμε να δημιουργήσουμε φάκελο ή φακέλους στο Online Archive.

    Σημείωση: Όπως έχω αναφέρει και σε παλιότερα post μου, με τον ερχομό του Exchange 2010 SP1 μας δόθηκε η δυνατότητα Personal Archive Mailboxes σε ξεχωριστές Databases, στην ουσία, μας δίνει την δυνατότητα επιλογής αποθήκευσης του Personal Archive σε ξεχωριστή Mailbox DB (Data Base). Εδώ περιγράφετε και η διαδικασία: Εισαγωγή στο Online Archiving του Exchange Server 2010 SP1
    5. Από την στιγμή που δημιουργήσαμε τον/τους φακέλους μας, προχώρημα στο επόμενο μας βήμα για την δημιουργία και την οργάνωση των Rules μας.

    6. Για να δημιουργήσουμε Rules, θα πρέπει να μεταβούμε στην ECP (Exchange Control Panel). Επιλέγουμε επάνω δεξιά Options και επιλέγουμε See all options.

    7. Στο επόμενο βήμα, επιλέγουμε Organize E-Mail και στην δεξιά πλευρά του παραθύρου Inbox rules και έπειτα NewàCreate a new rule for arriving messages.

    8. Θα δούμε την δημιουργία ενός απλού Rule, που όταν λαμβάνουμε μηνύματα από έναν συγκεκριμένο χρήστη , θα μεταφέρονται σε συγκεκριμένο φάκελο που τον έχουμε ονομάσει «CF Emails».
    9. Στο παράθυρο διαλόγου New Inbox Rule, θα επιλέξουμε στο When the message arrives, and: την επιλογή It was received from…. και επιλέγουμε από τα Contacts μας το email του αποστολέα μας.

    10. Επόμενο βήμα, είναι η επιλογή του φακέλου, που θέλουμε να πηγαίνουν τα μηνύματα του συγκεκριμένου αποστολέα.

    11. Επιλέγουμε Save .

    12. Πάμε να κάνουμε δοκιμή, να στείλουμε μήνυμα από τον χρήστη Joanna Vathis στον Administrator. Όπως φαίνεται και στην εικόνα μας, το μήνυμα παραλήφτηκε και μεταφέρθηκε στον φάκελο με επιτυχεία.

    Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1 resolves issues that were found in Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1 since the software was released.     2519359 Unable to Create a 'Reply With' Rule on Public Folders Even With Owner and Send As Permissions 2394554 Generating DSN fails if original mail uses non-support encoding charset. 2490134 Outlook 2007 does not deliver "Delayed Delivery" Messages against an Exchange 2010 Server in Online mode with any additional Transport loaded in the Outlook Profile Download it from :
